Stop Resisting Change

The harder you resist change, the longer it takes to accept.

Your kid(s) are meant to fly.

Deep down you know this to be true AND it's one of the hardest things to accept -- in the moment.

If there's one thing I've learned from my journey and those of my clients it's this:

The more time you spend waiting to be involved in your kids' adult lives the longer and harder it becomes to be involved in your OWN life.

Yes, your life.

That's the secret no one tells you.

The key to learning to love your life once the kids are grown and flown is becoming involved in your own life.

This looks different for me then it will for you, or your spouse/partner, or your friends.

It's something that is uniquely yours.

The advice you'll most likely get when you Google "empty nest syndrome" is:

Find a Hobby

My friends that's 100% NOT the answer -- at least not at the onset of your empty nest journey.

You may end up there but it's not the answer.

You start by getting control of your thoughts and feelings about your life.

Then you focus on discovering who you are now that you're not parenting 24/7.

Then, and only then, can you set some goals for your empty nest life.

It starts with you stopping your resistance of the change in your life.

And begins with you getting involved in your life.

I know it's been a minute or two since you've focused on yourself.

Now's the time.
